Astrocytes, the most abundant glial cell type, are increasingly implicated in many neuropsychiatric disorders. Despite this increased attention, little is known regarding the neurobiological plasticity involving transcriptional and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms in astrocytes in the context of substance use disorders (SUDs).

My lab is focused on how the regulation of astrocyte gene expression, at both the transcriptional and epigenetic level, contributes to complex behavior.
